The Kamarand and other unicorns
My second book was about unicorns. It was called The Kamarand. You'll never read it because I wrote it way back in my teens and I no longer have a copy. There was a sequel called (imaginatively) The Kamarand ll.
The unicorn characters in these stories, the first I even wrote about, were named Kyalas, Odyllicus, Rinella, Zaius and Kamarand. They might be the first, but certainly not the last. Over the years I've written several unicorn stories. A Pocket Unicorn has one named Imperion Silverspear. There is one in In the Blink of an Eye. There is one called simply, Unicorn. He is in the story Unicorn and Smiley, which you can read on this site. Then there's Fayfayre, who plays an important part in Lilly of Mirryam. Because I've always been so fascinated by them, I was delighted when Scholastic published the first of my Pearl stories.
